Is Chrismas really over?

What is this? We had to wait ages for Christmas to get here. And now it's already over? Inès keeps asking papa if it really is over. I can't believe it myself. But when I saw papa dismembering the Chrismas tree with a knife (kinda freaky really) something told me that it was true.

Now what? I mean, at least if we lived in the States we'd have Presidents' day.

Well, it may have been brief, but it was good. I mean great. First, it was actually a white Chrismtmas! We wrote our first letter to Santa (Père Noël to those from the chic end of town) and actually got a reply. Ata stuffed us with the best Christmas dinner ever, we decorated two (count'em 2) Christmas trees, and being good all year really did pay off!

Oh, and on New Year's day mama and papa took us skiing! Yeap, Fico came along and we met up with Clara and Robin. Papa took Inès out of school for an entire week and hasn't stopped blubbering since about how he's ruined her entire career and that she'll never get into ophthalmologist school now.

I suppose that charged our batteries enough to brave gray skies for the next four months or so. But I think we might live it up on Presidents' day anyway.

Check out some yuletide fun here: Santa stole the cookies!

And wonder at future winter olympians here: That snow looks an awful lot like rain!
